While my name is Lisa Lamoureux, I'm probably best known as simply "Mrs. L". I attended East Carolina University where I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. I fell in love with teaching while working at Magnolia School for exceptional children, in Orlando, Florida. In 1994, while living in California, I earned my teaching credential from Chapman University. My teaching experiences range from five years in the special education field and two years at the middle school level. I am currently in my seventh year of teaching First Grade at Lake Ridge Elementary School. While I often get asked as to what area or grade I like teaching the most, I can honestly say, all of them. I find what I enjoy the most are my students and in the long run what they in turn teach me.
For me, home has always been where the military sent us as my father retired from the Marine Corps. I grew up on various Marine Corps bases and enjoyed the summer months in my mother's hometown of Vieques, Puerto Rico. For the past twenty-four years, I have continued with the challenges the military had to offer, yet as a Navy wife. While my husband Joe and I have lived in many wonderful places, we were extremely pleased to return back to Lake Ridge, Virginia. Our daughter Nicole, now a Junior at James Madison University, attended LRES as well as our son Christian, a sophmore this year at Woodbridge Senior High School. I am looking forward to working as a partner in your child's education. It is sure to be full of many rewarding experiences for us all. I will do my best to keep you informed of what is happening in our classroom and school through my website and newsletters. May you find time to visit us in the classroom, share your talents or have lunch with us, our door is always open. | |
